A chamber orchestra specializing in both early music and music of the classical period, located in the Arts district of Midtown Atlanta, housed in the historic First Presbyterian Church, and next door to the Woodruff Arts Center.

~Our History~

St. Cecilia Consort began by Charles Whittaker as a much smaller string ensemble of church members in 1994 and has added members as its reputation grew.

The Consort has been performing continuously on a monthly basis for services at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. The Consort's first out-of-town concert was held at Bruten Parish Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. During that same trip, the Consort also played for services at Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, Virginia. The Consort has performed in Birmingham, Alabama, as well as in Leipsig and Weimar, Germany.

The Consort's most recent away performances were during a concert tour of France. It was there that the Consort played at Chartres Cathedral and the American Cathedral in Paris, as well as La Madeleine.
